Health Protection NSW works to prevent exposure to, and minimise impact of, infectious and environmental hazards. HPNSW works closely with public health units in local health districts in the development, implementation and evaluation activities to protect public health.

About this role
NSW Health is undertaking a program of work to strengthen and develop integrated state-wide solutions to support disease surveillance and public health response activities. This will be critical to ensure NSW remains capable of detecting and responding rapidly to control infectious disease outbreaks and continues at the forefront of pandemic preparedness. HPNSW is the business owner and funder of the program and we work in close partnership with eHealth who are managing the program.
The Project Officer is responsible for coordinating program management activities regarding the procurement, design, development and implementation of the surveillance and outbreak response platform for NSW i.e. SIGNAL program. This will include working closely with HPNSW staff to manage the overall budget of the program and capture and report on any issues or risks, as well as supporting a range of projects associated with the procurement and delivery of the platform.

Selection Criteria
- Experience in providing project co-ordination and support for complex projects in a large and complex organisation.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Proven knowledge and capability in project management activity, including documentation and management of risk and issues registers, budget management, and identifying and seeking mitigation of potential or actual project issues.
- Highly developed organisational skills and experience working on project portfolios in ademanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
